Advanced Rescue Training Refresher is a refresher course designed to keep wind industry professionals up to date with advanced rescue skills and techniques in wind turbines. This program reinforces the knowledge acquired in the group rescue modules, covering rescues in the hub, nose, and blade interior, as well as in the nacelle, tower, and basement. During the course, participants will review emergency procedures, evacuation strategies, and rescue techniques using advanced equipment and systems in simulated scenarios.

Training objectives:

• Update knowledge on advanced rescue procedures in wind environments.
• Perform rescue operations using advanced techniques inside the hub, nose, and blade, exceeding the content of the GWO Working at Heights module.
• Execute complex rescues in the nacelle, tower, and basement using specialized rescue techniques and advanced equipment.
• Review and reinforce emergency and evacuation procedures to ensure an effective response to incidents.

Syllabus:

Hub, Nose, and blade interior rescue (HSIBR)

• Introduction and emergency procedures.
• Emergency response plan.
• Injury prevention and risks during rescue operations.
• Head support and victim immobilization techniques.

Nacelle, tower, and basement rescue (NTBR)

• Emergency procedures and evacuation strategy.
• Review of rescue techniques at height and in confined spaces.
• Victim evacuation from the nacelle to the tower base.
• Ascending rescue, confined space, and chamber rescues.

Practical Training:

• Rescue exercises inside the hub and from the blade (Exercise 1+2).
• Rescue exercise inside the hub (Exercise 3+4, maneuver initiation in the nose).
• External victim evacuation.
• Practical evacuation exercise from the nacelle to the tower base.
• Rescue in confined spaces and chambers.
• Ascending rescue inside and outside the nacelle.

With a combination of theory and hands-on practice, this course trains participants to respond effectively to emergency situations in wind turbines, ensuring safe operations and a quick response to incidents at height or in confined spaces.
