Training description

The GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART)  Combined course is designed to train wind industry professionals in advanced rescue techniques, covering the same four modules as the standard ART course but in a reduced time frame. This intensive course allows participants to perform advanced rescues within the hub, nose, blade, nacelle, tower, and basement, using rescue systems and techniques that go beyond the basic GWO Working at Heights module. Throughout the program, students will learn rescue procedures for complex emergency situations, from confined space rescues to evacuation maneuvers and ascending rescues, optimizing their response times and ensuring safety in every intervention.

Objectives

  • Acquire the necessary skills to perform advanced rescues in wind environments safely and effectively.
  • Apply specialized rescue techniques in the hub, nose, and blade using advanced equipment and procedures.
  • Execute rescue operations in the nacelle, tower, and basement, including confined and hard-to-reach spaces.
  • React quickly and efficiently to emergencies at height, ensuring the safety of both the team and the victim.

  • Injury prevention during the course.

Nacelle, tower, and basement rescue with a Single Rescuer (SR:NTBR)

  • Introduction and emergency procedures.
  • Single rescuer rescue strategy.
  • Injury prevention during the course.

Practical Training:

  • Rescue inside the hub (from the blade).
  • Rescue inside the hub (from the nose).
  • External victim evacuation.
  • Rescue in confined spaces.
  • Ascending rescue.
  • Chamber rescue (requiring crawling).
